Azerbaijan is strategically located on the North-South & East-West corridors and hence has a potential to become a regional transit hub. The Government of Azerbaijan has taken tremendous developmental steps in this direction, prominent among them are modernizing the Baku airport to increase its passenger & cargo capacity substantially and secondly the creation of the Baku Logistics Center to efficiently handle import, export and transit cargoes.
Baku airport could be the ideal choice for transiting export cargoes from Afghanistan by air and cross-stuffed into containers for oncarriage to worldwide destinations by sea via Poti.
